Marisa Recker

I have loved writing for as long as I can remember, but I wrote my first story in 3rd grade. Based off of my beloved dolls, I knew that it would be an instant hit. And it was, to my mom.

Since then, my writing has gone beyond the subject of Barbie and onto more serious notions, like high school crushes. I wrote my first novel, Some People Wonder, while still in high school. I was determined to capture the high school experience the best way I knew how, by living it.

Some People Wonder was published in 2018, my freshman year of college.

My next book, Until I See Stars, moved away from the young adult fiction world and became my first contemporary fiction novel. This novel follows one family throughout decades of growth, changes, and loss. It was published in 2022.

Now, there are new projects in the works that I cannot wait to share soon. Until then, happy reading!
